In order to play Adeo, you must have DirectX9 (currently using the August 2006 SDK) installed on your system. Also, a video card that's pretty D3D friendly will help. If you have to ask why a roguelike requires 3d hardware, see the FAQ. Performance wise, I have yet to see the engine visibly render a scene (in other words, drawing a full screen of grids and objects is extremely fast on my test machines).

The latest build is 0.1.7, available for download here : ~1.9MB. Bundled into the zip is the latest D3D9 DLL, so if you have DirectX9 installed, you don't have to update it to play.
